Part-Time Ukrainian Dance Outreach Coordinator (Saskatchewan)
The Ukrainian Dance Outreach Coordinator (UDOC) will bring knowledge and
experience relating of the Ukrainian dance community of Saskatchewan.
The UDOC will be guided by UCC-SPC
Dance Outreach Program goals of: 1. establishing a
better and more coordinated support program for Saskatchewan’s Ukrainian
dance community; 2. increasing
networking and professional development opportunities for Ukrainian dance
community stakeholders (volunteers, instructors,
dancers, supporters); 3. increasing
collaboration and cooperation among dance community members; 4. enhancing
opportunities for Ukrainian dancers to find employment in the cultural
sector in support of their cultural genre;
and 5. providing
effective, accessible, sustainable and relevant communication,
information and supports for Saskatchewan’s
Ukrainian dance community. Specific job duties
include but are not limited to: 1. implementation of
UCC-SPC’s Ukrainian Dance Support Action Plan based on
March, 2011 ‘Dancing a Common Kolomeyka’
Report and the short, medium and long-term goals; 2. organizing the
Ukrainian dance related workshop sessions for the UCC-SPC
Spring Conference taking place in March,
2012; 3. developing a
Ukrainian dance summer workshop program for Saskatchewan
dancers and dance instructors; 4. facilitating
networking for the province’s dance community (dancers, instructors,
volunteers, supporters); 5. preparing
Ukrainian dance related articles for each issue of the UCC-SPC Visnyk; and 6. maintaining and
further developing UCC-SPC’s online dance-related resources on
the registration details, recognition of current medalists); employment resources; information on costuming and music (local costume makers, regional style requirements, music sources, other) and Ukrainian dance camps.
The successful candidate should have the following Skills, Training and Qualifications: 1. Competency in MS Office and keyboarding, Publisher an asset. 2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience working with volunteers 3. Effective research, organisation, reporting and time management skills 4. Ability to work independently 5. Familiarity with the Ukrainian dance community of Saskatchewan 6. Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's License. 7. Basic Ukrainian language competency an asset, but not required 8. CPR & First Aid Certificate an asset, but not required
