Favorite Memory

Ukrainian dancing has always been important to me not only because I love to dance but because of the culture that it is rooted in. At one point in my journey, I danced in the same group as both my older brothers. We were performing a Hopak; it was our last competition for the year and the last dance that we were to perform. My brothers were performing a duet of the step Stupak right before the big finale of our dance.  I remember dancing behind them and watching them interact with each other and the audience with huge smiles on their faces. I had such an overwhelming and fierce feeling of pride in the both of them and our culture that it genuinely moved me to tears I was so deliriously happy to be able to share and dance with them in that moment.
